Today is Julia's big 18 month birthday. Wow. Time sure flies. Julia had her well-baby check up today and Megan opted to stay home with Riley to keep her away from other potentially sick children (that flu is so scary) so I took Julia to her appointment. I have been going to her doctors appointment since birth so I know the doctors and nurses there and they know me. All was fine until we got called in and they wanted to weigh Julia on the big people scale. Hmmm... that was not good. She freaked out and cried, screamed, held onto me like we were killing her. Very sad. So... the nurse said "we'll weigh her on the infant scale". Yeah, right. When she got into the examining room I had to take her clothes off and then the screaming started. The poor little girl was so scared but finally we got her weighed and measured (35 inches 25 pounds 7 ounces) and the nurse left. After sobbing and clinging to my neck with iron fingers for five minutes Julia finally calmed down, sobbing, with a teary little face. Then the doctor came in and it started again. The doctor said all children do this between 18 months and about 30 months and it was totally normal. So I felt bad cuz I had to hold her down to get checked, poked and prodded. The doctor, as usual, was very impressed with how advanced she was both in language and coordination. After many tears and much sobbing her exam was over. The minute the doctor left she immediately calmed down, wanted to get dressed and was all happy. We walked back into the waiting room and she smiled and waved at the nurses and the doctor. Silly girl. So I decided to bring her home and see "doddies" and Grandpa.

After playing with dogs, Grandpa and the ball (baaaa) we decided to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma - home of assorted wild bunnies and quails which are always of great interest to our sweet little Miss.

After an hour or so outside we went inside and Julia checked everything out. We eventually ended up in Liz's room where Julia had a great time looking at everything...

...and after a busy, happy day we headed home to see Baby Riley (also know as "Beeee") and Daddy and Mommy....

Take me home, please
